Tennant, William (1758 1813)
Eldest son of John Tennant of Glenconner, by his second wife. He is described in the 'Epistle to James Tennant' as 'Preacher Willie'. He was Chaplain to the Forces in India, and on his retirement settled at Glenconner. He was strictly evangelical in his views, and wrote two books on India. Glasgow University gave him an honorary doctorate.
